Role Summary:

Wigwe University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registrar to join our team. The Registrar will support the Vice Chancellor in providing strategic and operational leadership for the University’s academic administration. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing student records, admissions, examinations, senate matters, and other regulatory and administrative services.

This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual with strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Vice Chancellor in managing the Registry and ensuring efficient delivery of academic administrative services.

Position: Senior Administrative Officer

Role Summary:

The Senior Administrative Officer, Administration is a senior officer responsible for administrative services in the University. The office reports to and advises the Vice Chancellor on all matters pertaining to the management and operation of general administrative services functions. The SAO is fiscally responsible for budgeting and executing the Wigwe University System’s capital appropriations.

The role serves as the senior officer responsible for providing leadership and management to administrative services units. The University Administrative Services Units including Physical Planning Unit, University Clinic, Community Relations, Employee Relations and student recruitment division as well as other Wigwe University support services.

The below job specifications notwithstanding, the VC may assign other responsibilities to the holder of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides overarching leadership for Physical Planning, Power generator and Water supply, Community Relations, Student Recruitment, University Clinic and Employee Relations units within the university.
  • Ensures compliance with the University’s institutional mission by establishing goals and objectives, reviewing and approving departmental plans, designing systems of effective control to achieve expected outcomes, and evaluating progress towards goal accomplishment in the Administrative Services Division.
  • As resources permit, ensures the prompt and effective delivery of essential administrative services by organizing the various units and sub-units in a logical, non-duplicative and effective manner that best meets the work requirements of the division and the needs of the University, monitoring workloads throughout the division and prioritizing staffing needs accordingly.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality medical care, managing clinic operations, and promoting health and wellness across the university community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate clinical processes and oversee the day-to-day activities of the University Clinic.
• Develop and implement healthcare protocols aligned with best practices and the unique needs of the university population.
• Sustain the clinic’s activation on our HMO portal and effectively manage HMO-related services.
• Promote health and wellness through organized student programs, periodic outreach, and campus-wide health fairs.
• Conduct routine audit inspections of key areas (e.g., food preparation zones, water treatment facilities) to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Lead and oversee the clinic’s registration renewal process, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met.
• Operate and interpret results from specialized medical equipment such as ECG and spirometry machines.
• Respond to medical emergencies; ACLS and BLS certification required for managing and resuscitating patients with cardiovascular challenges.
• Analyse student health data to identify trends and inform proactive intervention strategies.
• Engage with the student community in a youth-friendly and approachable manner, often serving as a mentor and trusted advisor.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC clinical experience.
• Full registration certificate with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
• Current practicing license.
• Professional indemnity certificate.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications.
• Demonstrated experience in hospital administration and patient care coordination.
• Familiarity with HMO systems and processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for youth engagement.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation is an added advantage.
